Kyle Hammer finishes ninth in Gator Championship at Volusia to kick off 2026
Opening up the 2026 race season down in Florida, Kyle Hammer checked into Volusia Speedway Park (De Leon Springs, Fla.) for 10 straight days of DIRTcar UMP Modified action during the 2026 DIRTcar Nationals.
Getting back in the swing of things during opening weekend, Hammer finished ninth in Saturday's make-up feature on Monday evening before heading into the main part of the event.
Kyle finished third, fourth, and fifth respectively during the first three preliminary nights before Thursday's action was wiped out by Mother Nature. Hammer closed out his prelim results with a fourth-place finish on Friday evening.
Kyle started 21st in the $5,000-to-win finale on Saturday after winning his last chance showdown and raced to a Top-10 finish in ninth.
