Kyle Hammer
Hammer scores podium finish at La Salle; races with Lucas Dirt at Farmer City and Fairbury
Beginning Illinois Speedweek in his DIRTcar UMP Modified, Kyle Hammer was one of the 32 Mod entries at LaSalle (Ill.) Speedway on Tuesday evening.
Laying down the quickest lap in his qualifying group, Hammer picked up a heat race win and started third in the A-Main. Kyle battled inside the Top-3 and eventually settled for a runner-up finish behind Michael Ledford.
The following night at Spoon River Speedway (Canton, Ill.), Hammer started at the tail of the main event and charged forward to finish just outside the Top-10 in 11th.
Switching gears for the weekend events, Hammer made a pair of starts behind the wheel of the Stevie Sheppard-owned No. 5S machine with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at Farmer City (Ill.) Raceway and Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway.
Kyle did not make either show after finishing ninth in a B-Main on Friday and fifth on Saturday night.
