Kyle Hammer grabs pair of fifth-place finishes at Farmer City and Lincoln
Back behind the wheel since his Florida stint in February, Kyle Hammer kicked off his Midwestern tour at Farmer City (Ill.) Raceway on Friday afternoon to compete in the MARS Modified Championship Series portion of the Illini 100.
Recording a DNF on night one, Hammer found much better luck on Saturday night as he qualified fourth-quickest in his group and ran runner-up in his heat race. Starting eighth in the $2,000-to-win feature, Kyle made up three positions to finish in fifth.
Tagging on a Sunday event at Lincoln (Ill.) Speedway, Hammer started ninth in the 20-lap main event and recorded his second fifth-place run of the weekend.
