Kyle Hammer makes surprise 602 Late Model start at Volusia Speedway Park

Kyle Hammer competed in the 602 Late Model portion of the DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park (De Leon Springs, Fla.) after buying a 602 Late Model operation just a few days before.

After dealing with mechanical issues on Friday, Hammer started ninth in the second last chance showdown and drove to a transfer position in second. Starting 21st in the 20-lap feature on Saturday, Kyle stormed through the field and finished runner-up to Bubba Roling.
